Each Stephen Minister receives special training in the necessary skills to perform their duties. For a number of years now, we have shared training efforts with other Stephen Ministry-aligned churches from the Tucson area in an effort called “City Wide.” Of course, due to COVID, training was cancelled for several years. This meant that there were NO new Stephen Ministers, and while needs increased, our St. Francis’ numbers suffered some attrition. Throughout it all, we persevered and cared for those in need.
The Good News is that our City Wide training classes for NEW Stephen Ministers will begin again in fall!
Our St. Francis Stephen Ministry leadership is currently looking for people who would be interested in becoming part of our dedicated ministry team to provide listening and presence for those who are in need. We ask for about an hour a week of your time after being trained.
