Legacy Fund

 

The Legacy Fund provide members and friends with an opportunity to make charitable gifts to support the broader mission of St. Francis. These gifts are intended for purposes which are not funded through the annual operating budget and help to carry out the missions of St. Francis in the Foothills, today and in the future. These Funds are managed by the Desert Southwest United Methodist Foundation.


Undesignated Memorial gifts or bequests received by St. Francis of over $100 become part of this Fund. Three-quarters of the amount not specifically designated for the Endowment Fund goes into this Fund. The other quarter goes into the Church’s General Fund and is earmarked for special needs. The Endowment Committee oversees the distribution of the undesignated principal and earnings from this Fund.
 
HOW TO GIVE?

  • CASH or Check to St. Francis, designated as a Memorial Gift

  • A BEQUEST TO A ST. FRANCIS FUND IN YOUR WILL OR TRUST

  • LIST A ST. FRANCIS FUND AS (Full or Partial) BENEFICIARY ON YOUR:

    • LIFE INSURANCE POLICY OR PENSION, IRA, 401(k), 403(b)

  • TRANSFER STOCKS/BONDS. IRA ROLLOVER, RETIREMENT EARNINGS

  • REAL ESTATE (Survivorship Deeds are available in Arizona)

Examples of Bequest language: (Change wording to fit your needs)
 

1. Bequest of cash

"I bequeath the sum of $10,000 to the  St. Francis UMC Endowment or Legacy Fund (tax ID 86-0388672)”

2. Bequest of a percent of your Estate


"I devise and bequeath 20% of the remainder and residue of property owned at my death, whether real or personal, and wherever located to the “St. Francis UMC Endowment or Legacy Fund (tax ID 86-0388672)”

St. Francis Tree of Life

Tree of Life

Leaves are available for those who make an Endowment or Legacy Fund gift of $150 or more. A golden leaf will be engraved with your personalized message and displayed on the ‘Tree of Life’ located in the Celebration Center. Gifts to the St. Francis Endowment or Legacy Fund are tax deductible.
