April Eco-Tip


As we celebrate Easter, we may think about our own resurrection after death. The image of a caterpillar going to sleep as a chrysalis and emerging as a butterfly is a moving oft-used metaphor for our own future transition.


On Earth Day, we can vow to help these little miracles called butterflies, as well as other pollinator insects. One-third of our food crops depend on a healthy pollinator population, currently in serious decline.


Replace harmful herbicides with equally effective 20% vinegar for weed control. Check the internet for a wealth of how-to’s for planting native flowering species in your landscape, and for making a small puddler lined with pebbles. It’s time to assist in Nature’s Spring miracle!
