Special Fundraisers
Throughout the year, St. Francis supports a variety of special fundraising efforts that extend beyond our local ministries and connect us with the wider community. These opportunities may be sponsored by the United Methodist Church, the Desert Southwest Conference, district ministries, trusted community partners, or ongoing organizations whose missions align with our values of compassion, service, and care for others.
From disaster relief and mission initiatives to community outreach programs and special causes, these fundraisers provide meaningful ways to make a difference both locally and beyond. Each opportunity reflects our commitment to supporting ministries and organizations that bring hope, healing, justice, and practical assistance to those in need.
We invite you to explore the current fundraising opportunities below and discover how your participation can help strengthen communities, support important causes, and extend the spirit of generosity that defines St. Francis.
Desert Southwest Conference: The Solidarity Fund
Grounded in our United Methodist call to love our neighbor and seek justice, the Desert Southwest Conference has established a Solidarity Fund to support immigrants facing financial hardship amid increased immigration enforcement.
In many of our communities, detention and deportation leaves family members behind. Those families still need to pay rent and other important bills, while they work to understand ways that they will continue to support themselves. Additionally, the fear of detention and deportation is keeping people from work, school, medical care, and essential services placing immediate strain on families who are already vulnerable.
This fund offers direct, short-term assistance for basic needs such as rent, utilities, food, transportation, and medical expenses. By sharing our resources, we bear one another’s burdens and offer a tangible witness to God’s compassion and care for immigrants among us. Your generosity is a faithful act of solidarity with our immigrant siblings and neighbors, affirming the sacred worth of every person.
