Iskashitaa Refugee Network is looking for new volunteers! This month we have two great volunteer opportunities for you. We are looking for someone who is interested in being an office volunteer on Wednesdays from 8:45-11am. You would assist us in answering the door and phone calls as well as helping with our weekly food redistribution. Have you heard of Tucson’s Annual Free Sustainability Event? Here is the place to drop off and upcycle clothing, books, electronics, scrap metal, bikes/parts and more. Stop by Tucson Zero Waste’s Drive-Through Event on November 4th from 9am-1pm. Iskashitaa will be there collecting jam and jelly jars made by Ball, Mason, and Kerr. The holiday season is coming so here is your chance to make a BIG difference if you want to sponsor a refugee family or an asylum seeker residing (albeit challenging) in Tucson we have plenty of folks that could use any type of gift cards, personalized gifts (we can give you the names/ages of the children), cleaning supplies, hygiene products, (nothing says love like TP) and the Iskashitaa garden/orchard wants used tools such shovels, rakes, hula hoes, or whatever you have.
