Stephen Ministry
How You Can Help
This ministry thrives through the generosity of the community. Here’s how you can make a difference:
• Receive Care — If you or someone you know could benefit from having someone to talk to, reach out to connect with a Stephen Minister.
• Become a Stephen Minister — If you feel called to offer a caring presence, consider joining the team. Ministers give just one hour each week and receive so much more in return.
• Spread the Word — Let others know that confidential, caring support is available through Stephen Ministry at St. Francis.
Compassionate, Confidential Care
Stephen Ministry at St. Francis is a one-to-one caring ministry offering confidential emotional and spiritual support to anyone facing life’s challenges. Whether someone is walking through grief, loneliness, divorce, chronic illness, or another life change, a trained Stephen Minister is ready to listen, encourage, and provide a steady presence.
Each Stephen Minister completes 50 hours of special training to offer “conversational care” — a safe, judgment-free space where people can speak honestly and feel supported. Services are always offered freely, without charge or obligation.
Our Impact
Stephen Ministers extend the caring heart of St. Francis by showing up, week after week, to walk alongside those who are hurting or in need of a listening ear. In a world where so many feel unseen or alone, these faithful volunteers remind people they are never without hope or help.
Stephen Ministers are here to walk beside you — with compassion, faith, and the promise that you do not have to face life’s challenges alone.
