Casa Maria Soup Kitchen
How You Can Help
This ministry thrives through the generosity of the community. Here’s how you can make a difference:
Volunteer — Join St. Francis volunteers to prepare and serve a warm meal to our neighbors.
• Give Support — Donations of food and supplies help keep the kitchen stocked and ready to welcome those who come hungry.
• Spread the Word — Share the mission of Casa Maria and invite others to stand alongside those in need.
Casa Maria is located at 352 E. 25th Street and is open every day from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, except Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Simple Acts of Mercy and Justice
Casa Maria Soup Kitchen has been serving South Tucson since 1981, providing daily meals to people living with food insecurity. Volunteers from St. Francis have been part of this hunger ministry from the beginning — every four weeks, on a Saturday morning, members of our community come together to prepare nutritious chili and serve it to those in need.
At Casa Maria, Catholic Workers are devoted to simple acts of mercy: feeding and clothing those in need, visiting the sick, and standing for justice for the poor. In each action, they share their faith and help revive the faith of those who feel they have lost it, reminding each person that Christ has never left their side.
Our Impact
Casa Maria serves hundreds of people every day with a warm meal, a kind word, and the simple reminder that they are not forgotten. Through the dedication of Catholic Workers and volunteers, this ministry helps ease the burden of food insecurity for Tucson’s most vulnerable neighbors.
Alongside providing nourishment, Casa Maria creates a space of welcome and dignity where relationships grow and faith is renewed. For decades, this small but steady presence has offered hope, compassion, and practical care — one meal, one act of mercy at a time.
Casa Maria reminds us that simple acts of mercy and justice, shared with love, can restore hope and dignity to our neighbors in need.
